how i spent my Christmas back in 2023

Contents ~~~~

i went to two services and walked through a labyrinth

Daniel is the associate pastor of first Christian church of Decatur. so this means i get to do a lotta church type of stuff. First Christian church of Decatur (FCC) is an open queer affirming church which is beautiful and is one big reason why i go there.

the Christmas tree sale

FCC does a Christmas tree sale every year right after thanksgiving. i got to help with it this year by greeting people and explaining to them the process of buying a tree or trees from our lot. i did my best to smile and use my telephone voice.

walking through a labyrinth made up of real Christmas tree needles

on the longest night of the year, i had the opportunity to walk through a labyrinth. Britty, daniel, and zieself were invited to a lady’s home to walk through her labyrinth to honor and remember those whom have passed.

each of us lit a candle and placed it within the labyrinth. i remembered my friend Norma.

Christmas Eve brunch

omg this was like the best Christmas Eve morning ever! a member suggested we celebrate Christmas by having brunch together. so we got to work on decorating and cooking for the congregation.

i made sure the centerpiece candles were centered and looked nice.

during the service, i got to read aloud and light the advent wreath. it was so special and fun. i felt honored to be the wreath lighter person.

the second service was later in the evening. this time it was in the sanctuary.

we lit up so many candles. there were candles by every pew. we even got new candles for the advent wreath. it was a much bigger wreath than the one we used at brunch. everything was decorated so prettyful.

we sang silent night and lit each others candles. the church grew dark to where only our candles lit the way.

the sermon was about us being fearfully and wonderfully made. it also talked about how we shouldn’t worry about what gifts we get for Christmas because we have the greatest gift of all.

Christmas Day

so daniel had a third service to preach at for Christmas Eve. this one was around midnight, so the rest of us went home.

Christmas Day was great. we exchanged gifts and had Chinese food for dinner. i got to videochat with my mumzie. she is doing well.

Daniel made me a bag using the xenogender pride colors. it looks so prettyful and great on me.

Visiting Jackson, ga

a few days after Christmas but before the new year, we got to visit Jackson, ga. TW, britty, daniel, and zieself went to the famous Jackson doughnut shop.

omg the doughnuts were delicious! 🍩🍩🍩 they literally melt in your mouth. they were nice and warm and full of flavor. i luv me a good doughnut.

we then filmed in piggly wiggly for brittys documentary. a nice employee told me she lived the fact that i dress as a purple skunk on the regular.

“My daughter does cosplay so it is beautiful to see people dress up. It makes me happy and if anyone has a problem with it, send them to me!” she proudly declared to me.

this truly made my day.

then we went to high falls! it was so pretty. Daniel and TW shared with us the story of how TW proposed to her at high falls. it was magical.

we then went to where daniel and TW took their engagement fotos. it was so pretty.

i had a very fun Christmas and few days afterwards. i know this all happened months ago but writing it all down now brings happy tears to my face. i was going through a lot mentally during all of this, but it feels good to look back on the good things that happened now.
