i finally start creating pastel goth art. it makes me so happy.

i truly enjoy the macabre, the creepy, the weird. but i have refrained from creating that type of art because i didn’t want others to think there was something wrong with me. now, i dont care what others think. i wanna find more pastel goth fans.

making a sketchbook out of duct tape was a lot harder than i thought it would be

i used strathmore layout bond paper (not an affiliate link) because it was all i had. i brought it several years ago thinking it would be great for drawing. i didn’t realize it was thin paper.

i used duct tape for the cover. turns out, it is very nice to use. i cant stop touching it.

i experienced a ton of tech headaches this week. it really threw me for a loop.

late last year google sold their domains to squarespace. so when it came time for me to update and pay to renew my domain name, i struggled. i had to go through so many help pages just to update my billing info.

when i was finally able to renew my domain, i had trouble updating my site itself. the backups were taking forever and i had a lot of plugins i had to update.

it was all a huge mess. im glad its over.

i created skeletal cats. this reignited my pastel goth art obsession

so i have a skeletal cat and dog salt and pepper shaker. the kitty cat inspired me to create a few skeletal cat drawings.

i had so much fun drawing and painting these skeletal cats. they truly bring a smile to my face.

painting a skeletal narwhal was a challenge but i stepped up to the plate

so back in 2021 i created sketches of three skeletons: a raccoon, a zebra, and a narwhal. i had wanted to make charms with them. that project never materialized, but i decided to use those skeletons now.

i painted a narwhal. i simplified the skeleton and made it colorful. I really think i am onto something here. i then made a few more skeletal animals.

figure drawings and lots of heads

for some reason, i felt like creating people. i get in these modes where i want to paint figures.

painting in my backyard

i had the urge to do some plein air painting. i went outside to my backyard and did some sketching.

a collage of children inspired me to draw them in my sketchbook

i was heavily inspired by sandi hester’s paint from family fotos series. so when i saw these fotos of children at church, i had to put them in my sketchbook.

it was such a busy, but fun, week. i didn’t realize how much art i made. i cannot wait to share more art filled weeks with yall.
