My aquarium video inspired me to paint jellyfish. They looked so peaceful in the tanks that i wanted them in my sketchbook
i painted two jellyfish! one i used the positive painting technique. the other i used the negative painting technique where i paint around the subject.
Â
i like both but for different reasons. I like the expressionist feel of the orange jellyfish. I like how abstract the smaller jellyfish looks.

A fun time at Charis book store in Decatur
my roomate, daniel, and i went to Charis book store after church this past sunday. i’ve never been there before. it was amazing.Â
i was personally impressed with their sci fi as well as sapphic & queer romance sections. i bought a luvly pair of earrings there.
i know why the caged bird sings is a banned book for some reason. i think that is very upsetting because it is by Maya Angelou.
when i saw it at the banned book mobile, i just had to have it. so it became the book i chose. i’ve got to read it. if there’s anyone who can capture my heart, it’s Maya Angelou.
what almost brought me to tears was seeing my highschool world literature teacher. i recognized her face but wasnt 100% sure it was her until she spoke to me.Â
“Didn’t i teach you before?” she asked
“omg you remember me?” i exclaimed
we both hugged. it was fabulous.
